You will find Hong Kong has attractive hotel options on both sides of Victoria Harbour with plenty of top activities and restaurants to fill your time.

As a leading international city, Hong Kong knows how to hosts its tourists. It’s full of some of the most luxurious hotels in the world. The hotels mentioned are places we recommend if you are interested in spending your time exploring museums, art galleries, local markets, shopping, eating well, and then taking in some fun nightlife.

Causeway Bay’s Top Hotels

Causeway Bay is located on Hong Kong island bordering the Eastern District. This is the place you want to stay if shopping is your top priority. Be prepared to handle large crowds of people as you bounce from one boutique shop to the next. Here are a few recommended hotels and neighborhoods with Causeway Bay:

The Grand Hyatt offers a plethora of dining options from the elegant poolside Waterfall Bar to the Michelin rated Grand Hyatt Steakhouse.

A heated swimming pool with spectacular views of the Hong Kong skyline is located on the 11th floor – open from sunrise to sunset. You have access to a workout facility 24 hours a day and the Plateau Spa, also located on the 11th floor, is open from 8am to 11:30 pm. Be sure to visit Wan Chai located just south of the hotel for additional restaurants and bars if you seek nightlife entertainment.

Central District’s Top Hotels

Central is the business district of Hong Kong where you will find no shortage of plush hotels – many of these hotels are home to Michelin star restaurants. Here you will be surrounded by the Bank of China, HSBC, and International Finance Center skyscrapers as you look across the Victoria Harbour toward Kowloon. Don’t dismiss staying in the urban jungle of the Central District because it has much more to offer than opulent hotels, restaurants, bars, and shopping.

From here you can hop on the central mid level escalators and bounce all over town with ease. A tourist favorite is heading up to Victoria Peak to take the breathtaking views of Hong Kong high above the lush tree line surrounding the city. Once you are finished at Victoria Peak, travel over to Lan Kwai Fong for a bespoke cocktail at a rooftop bar. As for the best place to say, we recommend the following:

The Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong delivers unending serenity and pleasure in the heart of the city. Room accommodations spare no expense with a spectacular view of Victoria Harbour. Within the hotel you will find several Michelin-starred restaurants.

Caprice, classic French cuisine, was awarded two Michelin stars. Lung King Heen, exquisite seafood and dim sum, was the world’s first Chinese restaurant to be earn the highly respected Michelin three-star rating. Sushi Saito, a branch of Tokyo’s three Michelin-starred restaurant, offers fresh seafood hand selected by Chef Takashi Saito every morning from Tokyo’s Tsukji Market and delivered to Hong Kong daily. The Mandarin Oriental is another excellent choice if you prefer to stay in the Central District and have no problem shelling out some extra shekels for a 5-star luxury hotel experience.  As the flagship hotel, you will have easy access to plenty of fine dining options on location.

Mandarin Grill and Bar has retained its Michelin star for nine straight years. Here you will be overlooking Statue Square and Chater Garden as you enjoy their award-winning cuisine. Pierre is a two-Michelin starred restaurant offering modern French cuisine compliments of Chef Jacky Tauvry. Mah Way is a Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant where guests can enjoy local and regional specialties surrounded by panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong skyline.

Ta Vie is located at The Pottinger where a two Michelin-starred dining experience is prepared by world renowned Chef Hideaki Sato. Tsim Sha Tsui’s Top Hotels

Tsim Sha Tsui is situation on the southern end of the Kowloon peninsula. Known as the Hong Kong Cultural Center, this is the play to stay if taking in art, history, science, and space museums are at the top of your priority list.
