Calistoga Motor Lodge & Spa – Calistoga, California

December 24, 2020 By //  by Sean Jarvis

Alongside endless grapevines and rolling hills, visitors can find the Calistoga Motor Lodge & Spa tucked away in beautiful Napa Valley. With modern comforts and an edgy, retro aesthetic, what was once a popular 1940s roadside motel has been converted into the ideal place to take a luxurious hot spring soak.

The Pools

There are three pools to enjoy at the Calistoga Motor Lodge, all providing a healthy treat for your body and mind. The main pool is outdoors, surrounded by a concrete patio furnished with comfortable lounge chairs and wide umbrellas.

The water comes straight from the source at a comfortable 80°F to 84°F and is deep enough for swimming. The views from this pool are fantastic, with the bright blue sky overhead and a horizon adorned with tree-covered rolling hills.

The wading pool lies next to the main pool and stays between 90°F and 96°F year-round. Perfect for lounging with your friends and enjoying the beautiful California weather, this shallow pool beckons you to lean back, relax, and let your stress fade away.

The covered whirlpool is the hottest out of all the tubs, hovering between 100°F and 104°F, and is the best place to heal and soak in the mineral water. Letting the strong jets work their magic, massaging any sore muscles, this spot is covered and more private than the others.

The Spa

When you’re not soaking in one of the three pools on-site, check out the spa area to help you relax and unwind. Calistoga’s modern spa has a variety of amenities including a custom mud bar, where you mix a myriad of ingredients together, according to your specific needs.

The Camper Rooms

The Camper Rooms are a throwback to the 1950s and are most akin to staying in a beautiful camper van. Using bold colors and vintage décor, the aesthetic is ‘California summer on the road.’ They have a range of sizes, from 250 sq ft to 450 sq ft., with a king-sized bed or a double queen.

All the rooms include a bathroom outfitted with rainfall showers and all the extras you would need to have a great stay. They also have an ADA room featuring a king bed and plenty of space to maneuver around.

The Vista Rooms have a more modern and streamlined vibe, with leather headboards, wood-paneled accent walls, and minimal décor.

From 315 sq ft to 363 sq ft, and featuring both king-size and double queen beds, these rooms provide a beautiful night’s sleep. One of the rooms even has a balcony overlooking the Mayacama Mountains, with the mineral pools just outside your door.

These rooms offer custom-designed hoodie robes, fresh pour-over coffee and tea, wi-fi, HDTV, and bathroom products from their spa.
