When the original Cleveland Aquarium closed back in 1985 due to structural building issues, they donated most of their marine life and fish to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. At the time the zoo didn’t house any aquatic life so they renovated their primate building which now hosts over 35 different aquatic exhibits and includes 100s of exotic fish, octopus, coral, piranhas, and eels. It’s not typically the main attraction on why people head to the zoo, but if you plan on going, be sure to stop by the aquarium to catch a glimpse of some local marine life.
