Deer Creek (Bigelow) Hot Springs – Blue River, Oregon

November 3, 2020 By //  by Natiaha Murphy

Set in the beautiful Willamette National Forest, Deer Creek Hot Springs, also known as Bigelow Hot Springs, is the perfect retreat for relaxing and reconnecting with nature. Situated on the northern bank of McKenzie River, in Blue River, Oregon, this pool allows guests to take in the beautiful scenic views while soaking riverside.

Hot Springs

As you take in the scenery, enjoy the natural healing remedies of Deer Creek Hot Springs mineral waters. The pool, which fits 2-4 people, bubbles up at a soothing 102°F during the summer and fall.

Although open year-round, if there are breaks in the rocks along the McKenzie River or harsh winter conditions, the pool can get much cooler and may not be ideal for soaking. Guests can visit this hot spring for free, unlike other hot springs in the area, from 6 AM – 6 PM.

For those looking to stay overnight, the Paradise Campground is located just a few minutes from the hot spring. Part of the Willamette National Forest, the campground requires a small fee and is open from May-September. Guests can stay at the site for up to 14 days, and dogs are allowed, as long as they remain leashed. A restroom and drinking water are also available at this campground as well as picnic tables and fire rings.
