Fales Hot Springs – California

Situated in Stanislaus National Forest, this hot springs is the remanence of a resort that has long been forgotten. Although there are not thrills at this place, it’s natural mineral waters still bring along the healing benefits as you relax and clear any stress away.

The source of the geothermal waters is scorching hot, but as it flows under the highway and through a pipe, the runoff cascades down into a rocked walled area where it is a much more manageable 95 degrees. Depending on the time of year it can fluctuate a few degrees. We wish you had better views of California’s landscape, but unfortunately you are stuck with a highway and the peaceful sounds of cars driving by.

Directions to Fales Hot Springs

From Bridgeport, California

1. Start on US-395 North towards Emigrant St. (roughly 13 miles)
2. The hot springs will be right off the highway. There isn’t a parking lot so you will have to park on the side of the highway.

Fales Hot Springs is one of the oldest rundown resorts you’ll find in the state and the natural waters are still perfect for a day of relaxation. Happy Soaking!
