Jemez Springs Bath House New Mexico Indoor Hot Springs Tub

Jemez Springs Bath House – Jemez Springs, New Mexico

October 25, 2020 By //  by Matt Thomas

Established in 1876, Jemez Springs Bath House provides natural hot springs pools and spa treatments in the beautiful Jemez Valley. It’s located 60 miles north of Albuquerque, in northern New Mexico.

The resort is managed by the Village of Jemez Springs. It’s a non-profit organization, with all proceeds going back to the Village. It’s open daily year round, except for Wednesdays, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. It’s closed every Wednesday to perform a Bath House maintenance.

There is a gift shop that sells souvenirs, beauty products, postcards, jewelry, books and bottled water. You are encouraged to bring your own water. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are recommended during peak weekends and holidays.

They offer both hot and cold mineral baths. You can choose between a 25 minute or 50 minute soak in 8 individual cement tubs. The bather can control the temperature. Swimsuits are optional in the private tubs. There are no children under 14 permitted. At this time no outdoor tubs are available.

The water comes from deep underground heated geothermally to 159 to 189 degrees Fahrenheit. Some gets diverted into a holding tank where it gets cooled overnight, allowing for a more comfortable and safe soak.

Some of the minerals found include: acid carbonate, aluminum, calcium, chloride, iron, magnesium, potassium, silicate, sodium and sulphate.

Spa Treatments
