November 13, 2020 By //  by Matt Thomas

Overlooking beautiful Palm Springs and Coachella Valley, Miracle Springs Resort and Spa is a year round hot springs oasis. It’s located among the foothills of Desert Hot Springs, California, just thirty miles southwest of Joshua Tree National Park.

This full hot springs resort has everything you need to relax away in paradise. Stay the night in the hotel, dine in the on-site restaurant, get a massage at the spa, and rejuvenate your body in the healing hot springs waters.

Hot Springs Pools

There are 8 hot springs pool to choose from in a cool landscaped courtyard. Each is filled with mineral water fueled from an underground thermal aquifer, situated about 300 feet down. It comes to the surface at 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The water is cool for comfortable soaking between 90°F to 104°F. The water is continually changed, pumped in at 200 gallons per minute to the 8 pools.

Originally used by the local Cahuilla Indians whom inhabited the region, they offer outstanding views of Mount San Jacinto. In 1914 Cabot Yerxa rediscovered these hot springs on his land, about a mile from the present day hotel. Because he had two wells, one for producing hot water at 132°F and the other cool fresh drinking water, he called the place Miracle Hill.

“From the analysis of these waters, I have not found the like of them in any country I have explored… It would appear to have qualities far superior to any waters known to me.” – World hot springs analyzer Dr. Augustus Broue in 1938.
