Ouray Hot Springs – Colorado
Located within the San Juan National Forest in a small town called Ouray, these hot springs may be in the top three best natural pool in the state of Colorado. The resort itself is known as “Switzerland of America”, with the source of the mineral waters starting at 150 degrees out of Box Canyon which is then pumped in over a mile away throughout all the pools, refilling the pools every 24 hours. Not many hot spring resorts in Colorado can boast that they have Olympic size waters for you to enjoy. This is a must visit place on your bucket list the next time you are in the state.
There are five main pool areas for you to enjoy at Ouray hot springs.

The Shallow Pool at Ouray Hot Springs is the most family friendly area with the temperatures ranging from 95-98 degrees. It also hosts a volleyball net within the natural waters so you can relax and soak in minerals while still having fun. Next is the lap pool which is used for just that. There are 8 full sized lanes and will often be fully of the more hardcore swimmers. The average temperature is 80 degrees. The third hot springs pool area is overlook hot pool which is two different tubs with an infinity edge waterfall. People who visit Ouray hot springs for the first time tend to gravitate towards that area for it’s awesome scenic views of the San Juan National Forest. Fourth is the hot pool and it’s name suggests that it is the hottest springs in the resort. The average temperature is 105 degrees. Lastly is the activity pool which is a kids paradise. The large natural springs pool hosts an obstacle course made out of inflatable tubes, along with a 12 foot climbing wall. It’s temperatures also hover around 80 degrees.
To go along with all these amazing hot springs areas, Ouray also provides a waterslide that feeds directly into the pools for even more amazing times.

Directions to Ouray Hot Springs
From Grand Junction, Colorado
1. Start on US-50 East for roughly 2 miles
2. Turn left to continue on US-50 East for another 30 miles
3. Merge onto G50 Road which leads you back to US-50 East for another 6 miles
4. Continue on US-50 East until you hit US-550 South which takes you into Ouray and your destination.
