Snively Hot Springs

Snively Hot Springs – Oregon

Located on the banks for the Owyhee River, Snively Hot Springs is a hidden gem of Oregon for it’s majestic views while soaking in the natural waters of the state. Built by a man made rock wall to block off the river, it’s the perfect place to get away from the world for a few hours and just be one with mother nature.

The original source of the mineral waters starts inland at over a blistering 190 degrees before making it’s way down to the Snively hot springs where it settles in between 100-115 degrees depending on how far you sit from where the source of the water comes in at. The main large pool area can seat a lot of people and during peak season this place can get a little crowded. However, it’s not as bad as most hot springs due to it’s location.

The best time to go to Snively Hot Springs is summer and fall seasons as during the winter, the rock pool can be overrun by the river. Also due to the area being abused in the past with people leaving trash, the springs is only accessible during the day. There is also no camping or fires allowed in the area.

Directions to Snively Hot Springs

From Boise, Idaho

1. Start on I-84 West to Boise River Rod (roughly 43 miles)
2. Merge onto ID-18 / OR-201 North to Owyhee Lake Road (21 miles)
3. You will arrive at the parking area for the hot springs.

Clothing is optional, but with the crowds that come it’s not often seen. Happy Soaking!
