Surprise Valley Hot Springs – Cedarville, CA
This California hot spring resort is adults only and features a couple private tubs for you to enjoy. Located in Cedarville, it is just on the border of Nevada and Oregon and nestled alongside Modoc National Forest. The natural hot springs bubbles up within a fenced in area and pumped to the tubs for you to relax in. The mineral waters start at around 101 degrees, which you can adjust to your comfort level.
Reservations are required to stay at Surprise Valley Hot Springs resort. However, if you just want to relax in the hot pools, walk-ins are allowed after 5pm. Due to being in a primitive location, there isn’t any internet or tv available so it will just be you and mother nature. However, the resort does offer a few great amenities such as massages and exercise rooms. The idea is to enjoy the outdoors so if you venture just a little outside the resort there are some amazing hiking trails as well as a fishing pond.
What makes Surprise Valley Hot Springs a popular destination for those traveling in the area is each pool is private so you won’t have to fight any crowds. Every room at the resort has it’s own private tub for you to soak in while enjoying the beautiful backdrop. Due to it’s privacy, clothing is optional and many take advantage of soaking nude to absorb as many natural minerals as possible, leaving both your body and mind refreshed.
