Wild Rose Hot Springs – Idaho
This underdeveloped geothermal pool is situated near Carney, Idaho where it’s natural mineral waters are heated by lava beneath the earths surface. Although it’s on private property, it’s completely free to the public, where thousands of people come each year for a nice relaxing soak.

Also known as Milford Hot Springs, Wild Rose pool averages 100 degrees year round. There is algae within the spring, but it’s all natural mineral waters. Unlike most hot springs, there is no odor that comes off at wild rose.
Directions to Wild Rose Hot Springs
From Idaho Falls, Idaho
1. Start on US-20 West towards Grand Ave (62 miles)
2. Continue on US-20 West and the springs will be roughly 34 miles ahead
3. As you enter the Moon National Monument, parking will be directly on the right
It’s just a short hike down to Milford Hot Springs. It can get quite busy during the summer months so it’s best to go off season or early / late in the day. There is also no camping in the area so make sure you have overnight accommodations lined up. Happy Soaking!
